Looking out from the deck of the BC Mining Museum in Britannia Beach
Category: Britannia Mining Museum
First started in the very early 1900’s, the Britannia Mining and Smelting Company mined for copper and shipped it to Vancouver Island to be smelted. Rich in history, there were many mishaps during its operation. Now the old mine is open to tourists and is an incredibly fun and informative destination. An old underground mining train takes visitors on a tour THROUGH parts of the mountain with displays of mining equipment for all to see inside.
